Ways to make a difference

I am a First Nations male from Swan Lake, Manitoba and I am 23 years old. I am currently in a Global issues class and we have been looking into racism throughout the world and especially in Winnipeg. Racism affects all ethnic groups, not just Aboriginals.
Ways to make a difference in decreasing discrimination and racism against Aboriginals and other groups is to treat all people with respect and politeness. People need to understand what Aboriginals and other ethnic groups go through day to day. If people came to pow wows or sweats and all cultural events of other ethnicities they would understand. Praying or committing on a daily basis to learn about all cultures, people would definitely have a different perspective to gain understanding and to release judgment about Aboriginals and other groups.
