Research on Racism in the city

Hi,

I think there should be sociological research in the form of telephone surveys on racism in Winnipeg. This should be in the form of a tracking study to provide empirical data on how attitudes might chance over time.

The problem article in Mcleans that resulted in this website was lacking in the available data on the subject and perhaps painted a less than accurate picture of our fair city. This was pointed out by the Sun and Wheeler in a recent radio interview with the author who was unable to defend her work adequately.

The city should take the lead on gathering, conducting and disseminating research to demonstrate a baseline and track the progression of attitudes in order to defend its image in the future. We have a metis mayor, aboriginal MPs and should not take the sort of press coverage Mcleans dished out laying down.

Sincerely,
Adam
