INTEGRATION & BREAKING DOWN DIVISIONS

My suggestion for reducing racism is to find direct and indirect ways of encouraging people of different races to interact and live in proximity to one another. I believe that if you interact with people who are different from you on a daily basis there is more opportunity to get to know each other and realize that the differences aren't so vast. Make it more attractive for all kinds of people to actually LIVE downtown - the most multicultural area in Winnipeg - and not only 'venture' in for things like Jets games. The more exposure someone gets of another culture or race the less it appears as the Other to them and I think this is an important first step.
