Building Relationships
I would like to start a program/group/centre called "Bridge the gap Winnipeg", or something to that effect. Indigenous people in the community would share their history and stories while Non-Indigenous people in the community would do the same. It would be a safe place where people could take to each other about racism, their communities, share knowledge. Perhaps "Bridge the gap Winnipeg" could host events, have speakers, elders etc. I'm a student at the University of Winnipeg and think it would be a great place to start a centre or group such as this. Maybe something like this exists, if so could somebody please enlighten me?
