Breaking bread together
Remove the divide. We need more opportunities to come together and rub shoulders with one another. Maybe a city sponsored picnic? Ask for donations rather than charging for entrance. This is inclusive of all income levels. Breaking bread together has traditionally been a way to make peace. Set up long tables and have each person/family sit next to a person/family they don't know. It doesn't take long for us to realize people are people, no matter the color of your skin. This could be an annual event to celebrate the fact that we listened and took action to eliminate racism in Winnipeg.
