“Winnipeg, the epicentre of Canada’s social ails”
Less than a year into his term as Mayor of Winnipeg, before a budget is presented and before any admissible election promise can be fulfilled, the mayor decides to tackle racism as a whole by starting up a website/comment board and directing staff resources towards this endeavour? Unfortunately, more than a century of abysmal Aboriginal/Canadian relations cannot be mended by the fanciful notion that a message read by Mayoral staff will somehow engage the entirety of the Canadian population in a progressive discussion. Its shameless self-glorification at the expense of realistic introspection of Canadian attitudes towards FN people. Please stick to solving budgetary issues and changing the deceitful culture at City Hall as opposed to feigning an attempt at changing deep-rooted ails in Canadian culture.
