Conversations
Our organizations Islamic Social Services Association and Canadian Muslim Leadership Institute host many intercultural and multi-faith conversations between diverse groups. We do this in the form of public forums, conversation cafe's and events. We have discovered that by inviting different cultural groups together in a respectful atmosphere that encourages people to ask questions, receive information and interact is the best way to develop understanding and respect between people. We have done these conversations between First Nations, Mennonite, Filipino, Japanese, Muslim, and newcomers to name a few. The responses we have received have been extremely positive. We would be happy to host similar events with the support of the city. We need more of these in Winnipeg and across Canada.
